Do you love sports? Do you have an opinion about the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, Texas Rangers, FC Dallas, or a local college team? What about the NCAA, MLB, the NBA, MMA or the LFL? Do you love to write, photograph or shoot sports and interact with fans? Does the possibility of covering sporting events live as accredited media appeal to you?Â
Whether you want to start a sports-writing career or you are just sick of the same old sports coverage from the mainstream media, our site, primarily dedicated to Dallas sports, as well as covering all other sports is the place to start. We have positions available for Photographers, Staff Writers and Contributors, but they are filling up fast.
Part of the mission of YDCFF.com is to encourage our community of readers to share their opinions and thoughts on their favorite teams. We strive to provide coverage from the fan’s perspective, a viewpoint that is often missing from traditional sports media. We believe sports coverage should provide much more than the facts and scores, it should give readers thoughtful and in-depth analysis, reasoned insights, entertaining anecdotes, and unique opinions. We are also open to covering non-traditional sports in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Staff writers are expected to submit at least one original article per week. Contributors can post an article at their leisure. These positions are not paid, but many of our writers move into paid staff positions as vacancies and opportunities arise. Being a writer for YDCFF offers excellent exposure, and it is a chance to sharpen not only your writing skills, but also your views of your favorite team. We have had members of our staff obtain positions with the mainstream media either as staff writers or interns as a direct result of the exposure they received at YDCFF.
If you live in the Dallas or Oxnard area, you may even get the opportunity to interview your favorite athlete or cover an event as a member of the media. YDCFF writers have interviewed: Cowboys linebacker Victor Butler, former NFL scout Bryan Boaddus, Brandon Carr, Cole Beasley, DeMarco Murray, Sterling Moore, Travis Frederick, the Miles Austin Foundation and SMU coach June Jones, among others. We were the first independent website to obtain media credentials to cover the Dallas Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Ca. Al and CJ got to watch practice from the sidelines, take pictures, and interview players and coaches at their leisure. Our writers and photographers have also covered numerous other teams/events as credentialed media, including: FC Dallas, SMU football, UNT football, Brazil vs Mexico at Cowboys Stadium and IndyCar & NASCAR events at Texas Motor Speedway. This is just the tip of the iceberg for YDCFF. We are growing at a rapid rate. Having been approved for credentials by the Dallas Cowboys only enhances our credibility with other professional sports franchises.
