untitledIn this episode of the “Red Light Sports Ramble”; presented by the Red Light Sports Network, Evan and Troy talk Milwaukee Brewer baseball and their winning streak.  At the time of the episode; the Milwaukee Brewers had a six game winning streak before starting their weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

After a 1-2 start; the boys talked about the concern of the 6-7-8-9 hitters in the line-up.  Maybe the karma got to the Milwaukee Brewer clubhouse as they went to Boston and Philadelphia, on a six game road trip.  They returned back home Friday finishing the road trip 6-0.  With little offense in the first three games; the Milwaukee Brewers erupted offensively on the road trip.  The biggest reason for the sizzling start is the quality of their starting pitching.  Through nine games, every starter has recorded a quality start.  The bullpen has been solid holding leads when they enter the game.

This sets up a battle for first place in the NL Central this weekend with the Pittsburgh Pirates (6-3).  The 7-2 Milwaukee Brewers are in a prime situation to extend an early season lead on a bitter rival.  After many years of frustration in Milwaukee; the Pirates ended the 2013 season going 5-4 at Miller Park.  The Pirates have a solid ball club but they are struggling a bit offensively.  Like the Milwaukee Brewers, the Pirates are riding a quality pitching staff and getting some timely hitting.  They have scored 24 of their 41 runs from the seventh inning on.  When you look at the 6-3 record; four of those wins have come against an inferior Chicago Cubs team.  This could bode well for the Brewers this weekend.

Listen to how the boys think the Brewers will fare against the Pirates this weekend on the full episode of the “Red Light Sports Ramble”.
