The Dallas Cowboys need a win against the undefeated Denver Broncos this Sunday if they are to stay above .500. Denver leads the NFL in most offensive categories; the Cowboys have struggled to find consistency on both sides of the ball.
YDCFF Staff predictions:
I don’t know that I can come close to predicting the outcome of this game. The reason is because I don’t know which team will show up. Will it be the team that pounded the Rams into submission? The team that played the surprisingly good Chiefs hard, but failed to come away with a victory, or the team that laid down a stinker against the Chargers? The Chargers game in my mind was a stinker, the game plan on both sides of the ball was awful.
Tony Romo is about to demonstrate why he is a truly great quarterback. He will get some help from the defense (Sean Lee and Barry Church will reveal that Peyton Manning is overrated), and probably a big play by Lance Dunbar or Dwayne Harris on special teams, but Tony Romo is going to lead the Dallas Cowboys to victory. The win will usher in a new era of Dallas Cowboys football. Beating Denver and Peyton Manning will begin the Cowboys’ march to the Super Bowl. My prediction for the Broncos @ the Cowboys is UGLY! I was hoping all week for a good gut feeling. Some glimmer of hope. It never came. I know twice in recent history Dallas has knocked off an undefeated team. Once it was Manning and the colts, once the 13-0 Saints.
This game more has the feel of when Tom Brady and the steam rolling Patriots came to Texas Stadium in 07. A slaughter. The Broncos are simply playing unbelievable football and the Cowboys….well they aren’t. Too many of the same old problems. Missed opportunities, untimely penalties, bad game plans, inconsistent effort to run the ball.
This is my positive spin on this game. Should the Cowboys chalk up another one in the “L” column at least its a non conference loss. The two losses they have are non conference as well. These have no weight on playoff tie breakers. At the very least the Cowboys will walk away from this game with no less than a share of first place in the NFC East. They will have no conference losses and no division losses.
The predictions are continued on the next page…..
