No reason they shouldn’t run over the Giants if they properly game planned. Giants look really banged up.

    • I think it will come down to both lines: If the Cowboys can protect Romo, run the ball and stop the run, they will win. I am not as concerned about our secondary,

  • Gabriel Carrasco

Dallas will be able to force Eli into some errant throws. They have done it before. I pointed out that most of Eli Manning’s interceptions come when he is in the pocket and when there is no defender there to bring him down. Eli Manning is the most overrated QB ever.

  • C. Joseph Wright

I think history (at least last season) shows that the Cowboys can beat the Giants despite losing in the trenches and having Romo get sacked repeatedly. They beat the Giants in New York, and they lost the second game because of unnecessary turnovers, not turnovers caused by poor line play.

  • Gabriel Carrasco

Further proof the Cowboys management continues to fail. They just traded a conditional 2015 pick to the Colts for Caesar Rayford. Yeah he dominated the Giants line but seriously he is 6’7″ 248 lbs. Seems like an oversized linebacker to me. We need a freaking DT and yet we keep getting linebackers and DE. Just pathetic. All the O line man that were just released and we see how bad the backup spots are on the line and we still do nothing. We better hope and pray that none of our starting O lineman get hurt.

  • Gabriel Carrasco

The Cowboys finally sign Brain Waters. It concerns me that he hasn’t played in two years but if he comes back and returns even as an above average player it increases the ability of the O line. Smith, Leary, Frederick, Waters, and Free sound a lot better.

    • he is over the hill: 36 and didn’t suit up in 2 yrs.. wonderful

In 3 weeks all Dallas fans will be applauding the Waters signing. He won’t be a pro bowl player but he will be steady and significantly better than Mac. The talent level on the o line is at least 75% better than last season….it’s gonna be a good season in big D.

I think 75% is kind of high in improvement, that makes The Boys must jump to 6th best Rushing team in the NFL from 31 last year. I believe a jump from 31 to 11 will be more probable, that an increase of 40.375 yards per game. That means the boy must run the ball 10 more times per game last year to get to 118.0 yards from the 78 they had last year as a team. This commitment to the run will have to come to a cost to the passing game. With the Boys Passing 40 times per game vs 20 yards rushing, the boys projected number with the same efficiency will be like 3675 yards by the way of the pass. I dont even see this as being possible the Cowboys rushing 30 times vs 30 times for the run. The reason it wont happen is because the Boys are pass happy and not committed to the run game what so ever. These number are base on last year productivity of 3.77 yards by run and 11.35 per game, that a 1 to 3 ratio in term of yards per play.

I believe many of the new signed player play by default, there just no one else on the team who can step up and play and start. That may have something to do with JJ draft record during 2009 to 2012 when he missed on 22/33 players. The only non drafted player during that time who may start is Leary. Leary is interesting only because his window may be so short because of his medical condition on his knees. Most NFL pass on him because of his medical condition, but JJ was willing to take a chance on him. We will see how that turns out for the boys this season
